Susan began dancing after being inspired first, by a ceilidh she attended during the annual Mull of Kintyre Music Festival in Campbeltown, Scotland in August, 2004, and second, discovering there was a nearby class in Marietta, Georgia at the Stone Mountain Highland Games that same year. She and husband, Lewis joined the Marietta class in February, 2005 and have been active dancers ever since, attending monthly socials, workshops, and summer schools. She has served on the RSCDS Atlanta Branch board in many roles including chair. Encouraged to obtain her certificate while attending Thistle School, she passed Part 1 in 2015 and achieved her full certificate in 2018 at TAC in Minneapolis. Susan currently teaches the Marietta Class and the Etowah class in her home town of Cartersville. She has taught classes at Thistle School and workshops in Gainesville, Florida and Cumming, Georgia. She currently serves as the President of the board for Blue Ridge Scottish Dance School, Inc.
