Musicians

Waverley Station

Waverley Station brings together the exciting musical energy of Liz Donaldson on piano and David Knight on fiddle. David and Liz have been playing together since 1997, when they were both on the music staff for the Stone Mountain Gala, a Scottish Dance event in Atlanta (GA). In 1999 they began playing as Waverley Station, taking the name from the train station in Edinburgh, Scotland. Their repertoire is drawn largely from the traditional dance music of Scotland, Ireland, America and England. David and Liz are joined by Ralph Gordon on cello and bass on their hot Scottish Dance CD, Waverley Station: First Stop!, which features generic dance sets.

David Knight (Washington, DC) plays fiddle with a spirited energetic style characterized by rhythmic and harmonic improvisation. David plays Scottish, Irish, English and American traditional music, and dances all these styles as well. In addition to traditional dance and performance David has also been involved in theater and performance art.
